The precariously imbalanced composition, offset by the placement of the container on the pedestal, expresses the sense of chaos and tumult. The variety and scale of the material impedes rhythm.

The strong verticality of the design invites you to travel a transcendent journey upward. The charred element speaks to Dido's tragic end. The open quality of the center protea creates a slight interruption in rhythm.

The color gradation and muted tones of materials capture the light and dark of the painting. The upright candlesticks confine the design.
