Judges' comments

Line, rhythm and pattern are created by the placement of the reflective components in this elegant Renaissance hair comb. Craftmanship is slightly affected by the placement of the raised tine on the left.

Statement of Intent

Renaissance art is ripe with Biblical imagery. The tree of knowledge, hidden in a forest, holds ripe fruit…is it forbidden? or perhaps offered as a coded message.

Judges' comments

Rhythm and negative space in the upper portion of the design is visually effective. The heaviness of the comb bar dominates the design.

Judges' comments

The reflective quality of the exquisite color palette successfully interprets the Renaissance period. The placement of components appear one dimensional or flat.

The artistic and pleasing combination of subtle colors with various textures and patterns create an elegant Renaissance barrette.
