Judges' comments

Craftmanship and iridescent color palette are indicative of an elegant treasure found in an Egyptian tomb. The limited pattern in the design of the wings is more interpretive of a moth and diminishes the rhythm of a butterfly brooch.

The innovative use of contrasting textures creates an appealing design. More attention to craftmanship would enhance overall distinction.

Judges' comments

An original and creative design of artfully and skillfully crafted small forms successfully interprets the statement of intent. The thinness on the lower golden Ankh creates a visual imbalance with the upper elements.

Judges' comments

A rhythmic and skillfully crafted brooch demonstrates successful use of negative space. The convex shape of the pink wings does not interpret the "grand wing spread" of a butterfly.

Judges' comments

The ethereal teal blue color palette in this butterfly soars. The uneven size of wings and irregular placement of antennae, coriander and mustard seeds affect distinction.
